For several months, Google's Gboard has already been available for iOS. Now the new keyboard with integrated search is also available for Android ...
In the coming days, Google is throwing the classic keyboard for Android overboard and replacing it with the Gboard, which has been known for quite some time by iOS. Not only the name is new, but the range of functions is also increased with the name change.
Gboard has existed since May this year for iOS, initially only on the US market, but since August this year also in Germany and other countries. In Android, there was so far no way to install the keyboard with integrated search and also a GIF search engine. This is likely Google will catch up tomorrow and the keyboard will finally release for Android.
In addition to the integrated Google search and the GIF search engine, there is also a dedicated Emoji button, which can be disabled like the G for the search in the settings. It is also good, that there is in Gboard a simultaneous support of several languages. Thus, the recognition for word suggestions when writing is even better and writing easier.
Already in May I had used Gboard on my iPhone and this has over time it actually managed to push Apple's standard keyboard on the iPhone from me. I am now glad that also on my Android smartphone the keyboard appears and I thus on both terminals the same keyboard can be used. Especially the direct search in the keyboard facilitates the daily writing of WhatsApp messages or other texts, so you do not have to leave the current app for the quick search for a restaurant to perform the search in the browser app.
Long story short, the keyboard just try it out. In the Play Store, you can download it but not yet official, but the APK is already available for download. What do you think of the Gboard keyboard? Write us your impressions about the new keyboard from Google in the comments.
